— -- Your look at the five biggest and most buzz-worthy stories of the morning.

1. Angelina Jolie Underwent Surgery to Have Ovaries Removed

Angelina Jolie underwent preventative surgery to have her ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed due to cancer fears, she wrote in a New York Times op-ed.

Jolie’s procedure – laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy – was motivated by a family history of ovarian cancer. A small benign tumor was found on one ovary, but no other signs of cancer were uncovered, she wrote.

Jolie’s mother, grandmother and aunt all died from cancer.

2. Ted Cruz Bets Jeb Bush Will ‘Shatter Every Fundraising Record’

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz may believe that Jeb Bush, one of his likely opponents, will “shatter every fundraising record,” but in an interview with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl just hours after his presidential announcement he said that “on the money side we are going to surprise a whole lot of people,” too.

“The support we are seeing on the money side has been incredible, both small dollar donations that are pouring in, people are going to tedcruz.org, they are contributing right now and we are seeing heavy hitters supporting financially also,” the Republican senator said Monday.

3. Murder Suspect Rocco Jesse Zuccaro Escapes from Custody in West Virginia

A murder suspect escaped from custody while undergoing a mental evaluation in West Virginia, authorities said.

Rocco Jesse Zuccaro, 30, scaled a wall at William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital in Weston at about 4:20 p.m. Monday, according to a West Virginia State Police news release.

4. Possible Threat to Obama's Niece Prompts Tighter NCAA Game Security

Someone called the University of Maryland Monday, saying a man was driving to the school to shoot President Obama's niece, a member of the Princeton basketball team scheduled to play there later in the day, the university said.

Maryland officials posted extra security at the NCAA tournament game Monday evening, according to a statement from the school police department.

According to the statement, campus police received a call at approximately 3 p.m. from a woman saying that she had received a text from a third party indicating that a male that she knew had a gun and mentioned president Obama's niece, Leslie Robinson, the daughter of Michelle Obama's brother.

5. ‘Dancing With the Stars’ 2015: Redfoo Is First to Go In Week 2 of Season 20

Redfoo, one-half of the electronic dance music group LMFAO, was the first celebrity eliminated from season 20 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars," and the ballroom audience wasn't happy about it.

The elimination was based on judges' scores and viewer votes from last week's performance. Judges were not impressed by the “Party Rock” singer’s cha-cha technique during his performance in the March 16 premiere -- although they did commend his showmanship.
