— -- After shedding a whopping 90 pounds, Mara Schiavocampo is sharing her journey to weight loss in her new book ,“Thinspired: How I Lost 90 Pounds" -- My Plan for Lasting Weight Loss and Self-Acceptance,” released on Amazon today. Now, the ABC News correspondent is giving us a glimpse of her day-to-day from A.M. to P.M., including what it takes to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Alarm Clock

Mara's alarm goes off at 5 A.M.

Most days, the alarm goes off around 5 a.m. I am not a morning person. Waking up is painful.

Going to work in Times Square never gets old.

Morning Stir

One of the best parts of my day is doing “Good Morning America. “There’s a great energy on set. We all genuinely like each other and have a good time.

Morning Snack

Mara eats a snack before her morning workout.

I eat a light snack before heading to the gym, like some peanut butter and a banana.

Sweat

Mara works out almost every day after the show.

I work out almost every day after the show. This is by far my favorite part of the day. I used to hate working out. I dreaded it. But once I found activities I liked, I came to look forward to it. Now I love it.

On Bike

Mara starts her workout with SoulCycle.

This is the view from my bike at SoulCycle. I’m addicted. It is the most fun ever. Those classes have taught me to love exercise, connect with my body and have whipped me into great shape. I go as often as I can.

Strength Training

Mara follows up by lifting weights.

I’ve also started strength training, which is fun in a different way. It makes me feel strong and empowered.

Yoga

Mara finishes up her workout routine with yoga.

I am terrible at Yoga. Awful! But I do it because I know it’s good for me and it feels good.

I eat my first real meal after working out. I love oatmeal sweetened with agave and banana, egg white cooked with peppers, chicken sausage and sweet potato. This is my breakfast almost every day. It’s a big meal, but after a tough workout, I need it. The egg cup and sweet potato here are from a meal delivery service called Eat Clean Bro. They help me stay on track with meals when my schedule gets hectic.

On Set

The single biggest factor in Mara's weight loss was changing her diet.

Then it’s back to work! I generally wrap up my day around 7 p.m. after “World News Tonight.”

Food

Mara eats dinner with her family.

I love to cook. Yes, I made all of that! I don’t cook every night though; generally about twice a week, and I make enough for several days. The single biggest factor in my weight loss was changing my diet. I don’t eat any of my “poisons” ever, mainly flour, dairy or candy. I love fish, lamb, green beans, couscous, sweet potato, broccoli and fruit. Those are my faves.

Picnic Dinner

Her dinner: baked tilapia, asparagus, brown rice, and mashed chickpeas.

We always try to have dinner as a family. This is us eating on the floor because my daughter, who is 3, wanted a picnic. It makes her so happy.

Dinner

She brings breakfast and lunch to work every day.

This is a pretty typical dinner for me: baked tilapia; asparagus; brown rice; mashed chickpeas.

Packing Lunch

Mara packs a gym bag nightly.

I take my breakfast and lunch to work every single day. Managing my food is the most important part of staying on track.

Gym bag

Mara gets about seven hours of sleep at night.

Failing to plan means planning to fail! I always pack my gym bag at night so I know I'll have everything I need in the morning

Bedtime

It can be so hard to get to bed on time, but sleep is a huge priority for me. It’s the key to sustained weight loss. Without it, I’m hungry, irritable and I have no energy. I generally get about seven hours a night, but on weekends I nap during the day, and I’m not ashamed to admit it!
