Police in Greenwich, Conn. said today that they have received "numerous leads" after announcing on Tuesday the discovery of young woman's bound body inside in a suitcase along the side of a road in the wealthy suburban enclave.

The woman is believed to have been between the ages of 18 and 30, authorities said at a news conference Tuesday.

Highway workers made the mysterious and disturbing discovery around 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to ABC New York station WABC-TV.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, officials said, and investigators are still working to identify the victim.

I just hope they get their information and figure it out. It's just crazy knowing there's a murderer on the loose.

Greenwich sits along the New York-Connecticut state border about 35 miles north of New York City, and is home to a large population of New York City commuters.

Chanya Champagne, who works at the The Granola Bar breakfast restaurant in town, said the news left her "speechless."

"I'm so used to watching videos, TV shows, movies, concerning things like that, but never so close to home," she told ABC News. "I'm just shocked."
