— -- Just two boys and their sheep: what could happen?

A lot of adorable fun, evidently, based on a viral video watched nearly 3 million times.

The video, posted to Facebook this week, shows a New Zealand boy riding a pet sheep like a horse.

The sheep takes off once the boy is on his back. As the video, captioned "This ended well" with laughing emojis, nears its end, it appears the boy is close to being thrown off.

In the background, the boy's brother can be seen chasing after another sheep.

The boys' mother, Sally Steiner, told Buzzfeed News Australia that she knew something was up when she heard her sons, Oliver and James, “screaming and laughing.”

“I…asked the boys what they were up to, they said they were riding the sheep,” Steiner said. “I thought maybe they might have been trying to, but probably not successfully.”

“We were outside the next day doing things around the place and when we were in the paddock they started playing with them and Oliver just jumped on Dotty,” she said.

Despite how the situation unfolds in the video, Steiner said it seems that Dotty actually likes to play horse.

“She loves it,” Steiner told Buzzfeed. “Wags her tail and comes back for more.”
