March 10, 2011— -- Once Prince William and Kate Middleton are officially husband and wife, they will settle into a 4,000-square-foot farmhouse near Will's Royal Air Force base in Anglesey, North Wales. But that home is about to undergo an extreme makeover, fit for a prince and his new princess.

Radaronline is reporting that the couple has chosen Beverly Hills designer Kenneth Bordewick to update their home with a "casual and contemporary" look.

Bordewick, who has also worked for Sir Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey, used his personal connection to the royal family to land the job.

"I played polo against Charles years ago and we became friends," Bordewick said. "He asked me to design the library at Clarence House when he inherited it from his grandmother."

The designer will fly to London next week to meet with Will and Kate. Although he has never met the bride-to-be, Bordewick has found inspiration for two rooms based on Kate's interests.

"Kate loves to cook, so we're focusing on the kitchen and fitting it with large American-style appliances," Bordewick said. "The master suite is going to be lovely for Kate. I like to make a woman's boudoir her sanctuary."
