Indiana voters also cast votes in several down-ballot races.

ABC News is projecting that Republican Sen. Mike Braun will win his bid for the governor's mansion against Jennifer McCormick, the state's former superintendent for public instruction and the Democratic candidate.

ABC News is also projecting that Republican Rep. Jim Banks will win against Democratic candidate Valerie McCray to fill Braun's Senate seat.

Democratic incumbent Rep. Frank Mrvan is projected by ABC News to defeat his Republican challenger Randell Niemeyer in the 1st Congressional District race.


State significance

Before deep-red Indiana voted for President Barack Obama in his blowout 2008 victory, it had last gone blue for Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.

Counties are colored red or blue when the % expected vote reporting reaches a set threshold. This threshold varies by state and is based on patterns of past vote reporting and expectations about how the vote will report this year.
