Down-ballot, ABC News is projecting that Democrat Andy Kim will defeat Republican Curtis Bashaw for Menendez's U.S. Senate seat, which is currently being filled by interim Sen. George Helmy after he was appointed by the governor. Kim will become the first Korean-American senator.
Residents also voted for new House members after the deaths of New Jersey Reps. Bill Pascrell Jr. and Donald Payne Jr.
