Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent, is also projected to win his Senate race, while Republican Phil Scott is projected to win the governorship.

State significance

Vermont has voted for the Democratic candidate for president since 1992.

In the 2024 Republican presidential primaries and caucuses, Vermont was one of only two races that Donald Trump did not win (the other being Washington, D.C.).

In the gubernatorial race, Scott, the incumbent, ran for reelection against Democratic candidate Esther Charlestin.

In the Senate race, Sanders was running for his fourth term.

Counties are colored red or blue when the % expected vote reporting reaches a set threshold. This threshold varies by state and is based on patterns of past vote reporting and expectations about how the vote will report this year.
