Wesley LePatner

Wesley LePatner, a Blackstone employee, wife and mom of two, was also killed.

She was the global head of Core+ Real Estate and the chief executive officer of Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust.

LePatner spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs before joining Blackstone in 2014. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University, Blackstone said.

\"Words cannot express the devastation we feel. Wesley was a beloved member of the Blackstone family and will be sorely missed,\" Blackstone said in a statement. \"She was brilliant, passionate, warm, generous, and deeply respected within our firm and beyond.\"

\"Our prayers are with her husband, children and family,\" the company said. \"We are also saddened by the loss of the other innocent victims as well, including brave security personnel and NYPD.\"

LePatner was also a \"beloved\" member of the board of directors of the UJA-Federation of New York.

\"Wesley was extraordinary in every way -- personally, professionally, and philanthropically,\" the organization said. \"An exceptional leader in the financial world, she brought thoughtfulness, vision, and compassion to everything she did. In 2023, we honored her with the Alan C. Greenberg Young Leadership Award at our Wall Street Dinner, recognizing her commitment to our community and her remarkable achievements, all the more notable as a woman in a traditionally male-dominated field.\"

\"She lived with courage and conviction, instilling in her two children a deep love for Judaism and the Jewish people,\" the statement continued. \"May Wesley’s memory be for a blessing -- and a lasting source of strength and inspiration.\"

Aland Etienne

Security officer Aland Etienne was also killed, according to his brother, Gathmand Etienne.

\"He was more than a brother -- he was a father, a son, and a light in our lives,\" Gathmand Etienne said on social media. \"Our hearts are shattered, and we’re asking for your prayers and strength as we navigate this painful time. Rest in peace, Brother. You’ll never be forgotten.\"

Union President Manny Pastreich remembered Aland Etienne as a \"dedicated security officer who took his job duties extremely seriously.\"

\"This tragedy speaks to the sacrifice of security officers who risk their lives every day to keep New Yorkers and our buildings safe,\" Pastreich said in a statement. \"Every time a security officer puts on their uniform, they put their lives on the line. Their contributions to our city are essential, though often unappreciated. Aland Etienne is a New York hero. We will remember him as such.\"

Julia Hyman

Julia Hyman was the fourth person killed in Monday’s shooting, according to sources.

She worked as an associate at Rudin Management, according to her LinkedIn, which is located on the 33rd floor of 345 Park Avenue, where the suspect shot his final victim and then died by suicide.

\"Everyone at our company are devastated by yesterday's senseless tragedy,\" the Rudin family said in a statement. \"We grieve with the families and loved ones of those lost, and we pray for the full recovery of those injured.”

Hyman is survived by her parents and her sister.

In 2020, Hyman graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, where she majored in hotel and restaurant management and minored in real estate.

Hyman had visited Cornell just a few weeks ago to celebrate her five-year reunion, the school said.

Cornell dean and professor Kate Walsh remembered Hyman as \"an extraordinary student whose academic achievements and intellectual curiosity made a lasting impression.\"

Before Cornell, Hyman attended Riverdale Country School in New York City, where she was a varsity athlete in soccer, swimming and lacrosse.

Her classmates and teachers remembered her \"heart of gold\" and her \"modesty and humility, her desire to see others succeed, and her grit and tenacity in the face of adversity,\" head of school Karis Ostrem said in a statement.

\"We are simply heartbroken by this loss, and will forever remember Julia for her light, her bright smile and infectious laugh, and the kindness and sense of community that she brought to school every day,” Ostrem said.
