William and Kate spent their anniversary Wednesday visiting an education nonprofit organization that benefited from the fund the couple established in 2011 for charitable donations in lieu of wedding gifts, according to Kensington Palace.

The couple also had lunch at the Goring Hotel, where Kate stayed the night before their wedding.

Last year, William and Kate spent their anniversary in Scotland, where they first met as students at the University of St Andrews.

They both studied art history and geography and shared a farmhouse with several friends before starting a relationship that has now lasted more than 20 years.

William proposed to Kate with his late mother Princess Diana's engagement ring while he and his now-wife were vacationing in Kenya in October 2010, royal officials said at the time.

Less than one year later, in front of 1,900 guests at Westminster Abbey, William and Kate each vowed to \"love, comfort, honor and keep\" each other \"in sickness and in health.\"
