“Especially head-on, you don’t think many people would survive that. Guess he’s lucky to be alive,” his friend Angelo Guerrero told KABC.

The firefighters were able to radio to a medical helicopter and Lopez was taken to a nearby hospital, KABC reported.

Nobody else was injured in the accident.

Lopez and Guerrero did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.
