The VMAs pre-show started at 8 p.m. ET and Swift's clip came on right before the big show. Swift herself introduced the video.
It features rising star Scott Eastwood and has a throwback, classic theme.
It begins in a safari with Swift sporting a new dark hairstyle. Eastwood then steps in and the two lock lips before a romantic backdrop, watching the sunset.
The video has some of the most beautiful scenery, but mixes some intense love between Swift and her co-star. There are happy moments, but some sad ones of her lying in bed, apparently thinking about his bad boy ways. With lions, elephants, and kissing in the rain, this is one of Swift's most powerful videos, visually.
But then it closes, showing the audience that it might have all been just a movie set, with Eastwood holding the hand of another. They are just co-stars in classic Hollywood.
