In an additional statement Bowen provided to ABC News, he said, \"I offer my sincere condolences to the Murray family. The greater Warren Hills community is a close-knit group of fine, caring people.\"

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie expressed his condolences to Murray's family.

On behalf of all the people of New Jersey, Mary Pat and I send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Murray family on the loss of Evan.

Warren Hills coach Larry Dubiel told Lehigh Valley Live that officials were still trying to determine what happened.

\"We lost a fine kid,\" he said.

The district said grief and crisis counseling would be available Saturday and Sunday.

The Warren County Prosecutor's Office, which police said was investigating the incident, and officials from Warren Hills Regional High School could not be immediately reached for comment.
