Chip Kelly was the likely candidate, but league sources felt there was a chance he could save his job when he sat down with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie at the end of the season. One source said that Lurie was not just frustrated with the team's performance but also "angry," which is a rare descriptive term associated with one of the NFL's most reputable owners.
