Key had the honor of performing a comedy sketch alongside the president at The White House Correspondents' Dinner, playing his popular character, Luther, Obama’s anger translator.

“It went pretty well. We had a great time,” he said of the experience. “And the president has fantastic timing, fantastic sense of humor. I just thought he was amazing to work with. He broke up when we were doing our rehearsal so he said, ‘Now, Key, you’ve got to keep it together. We’ve got to keep a straight face.’”

The comedian praised Obama’s comedic timing.

“On camera, he’s money,” he said.

Key, 45, is also taking on the big screen in the upcoming film,“Don’t Think Twice,” playing a member of an improve group where everyone is vying for a chance at stardom, but only one makes it big. He said he’d been planning to take six months off from work until he read the script, which immediately made him change his mind.

“I felt like this is a subject matter I know, the director knows it, I feel like I’m going to have a blast doing it,” he said of the movie. “There was something magical about it. We had to make it.”

“Don't Think Twice\" premieres Friday in New York City with a nationwide rollout to follow.
