Lindsay is the first African-American person to star in the \"Bachelor\" and \"Bachelorette\" franchise. Earlier this year, she told ABC News that the designation was an honor.
\"I just hope that people rally behind me like they did in Nick's season...just realize that my journey is just trying to find love,\" she said in an interview with \"Good Morning America.\" \"Even though I'm an African-American woman, it's no different from any other 'Bachelorette.'\"
\"The Bachelorette\" will premiere at 9 p.m. ET on May 22. The next week, it will resume airing in its regular time slot, at 8 p.m. ET.
