Mo’Nique herself kindly responded to Wilson, urging her to \"take a moment and know the history.\"

After responding directly to Mo’Nique, Wilson posted a lengthy statement on Monday, apologizing for not appreciating the work these women had done and the opportunities they had given her.

Wilson also apologized for blocking those on Twitter who called her out about her original comment.

To be part of a problem I was hoping I was helping makes it that much more embarrassing & hard to acknowledge. I blocked people on Twitter because I was hurting from the criticism, but those are the people I actually need to hear from more, not less. Again, I am deeply sorry,\" she wrote.
