Hemsworth is right. Actors including Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston and Richard Madden, among others, are also rumored to be in consideration for Craig's replacement.

Elba even poked fun at the speculation with a selfie alongside Craig at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards in January.

The actor later shut down ideas that the image was any type of confirmation of him starring in the franchise.

\"We just did it on the spur of the moment, thought it would be a laugh,\" he told Event Magazine. \"It was a selfie. Didn’t realize it would be picture of the year.\"

\"Bond is one of the biggest franchises in the world, and for that reason, whoever ends up playing it, lives it,\" Elba added. \"You’re THAT character, and known as that character for many, many years. I’m creating characters now that can still live alongside Idris. Not ones that take over me and solely define me.\"
