The clip, which was originally posted last November, could easily pass for an audition tape, as it features Lizzo performing the song while in full hair and makeup as the underwater character.

Fans quickly flooded the vocalist's profile with tweets of support, as well as criticism. Some even went as far as claiming that they would not watch the film unless Disney decided to cast the singer.

According to Variety, however, McCarthy is simply in \"early talks\" to star as the evil sea witch and the deal has yet to be finalized.
