The singer from New York City, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in \"Mudbound,\" is now working on the other side of the camera, producing a drama set in the 1980s for USA Networks.

Titled \"Philly Reign,\" the project is inspired by real-life drug queen Thelma Wright and based on her memoir, \"With Eyes from Both Sides: Living My Life In and Out of the Game.\"

Blige will also portray the lead in \"Power Book II: Ghost,\" the upcoming spin-off of Starz's hit series \"Power.\"
