\"I have lost my boy, and I need some time to see the good again, to finish making this for you,\" she wrote about her upcoming album, which will be a follow-up to her second studio album, 2017's \"Melodrama.\"

\"It won't be the same work -- and anyone who has felt loss can understand, there's a door that opens that you step through, and everything is different on the other side,\" she continued.

However, she wrote that she hopes when she begins to heal that she and her fan base will, \"all grow together, as we always do.\"

Fans sent messages of support to the singer following the announcement, tagging them \"#WeLoveYouLorde.\"
