However, the actress, activist and feminist says she is perfectly content being single -- although it wasn't always that way.

\"I never believed the whole 'I'm happy single' spiel,\" she said. \"I was like, 'This is totally spiel.' It took me a long time, but I'm very happy ... I call it being self-partnered.\"

But she did add that she's currently embracing dating in her life. While she stays away from matchmaking apps, she said that her friends are \"really good\" at setting her up.

During the interview, the UN Women Global Goodwill Ambassador also revealed the reason she invests so much of her life into promoting gender equality and other social causes.

\"Without this part, honestly it's got to the point, it renders everything else that I do meaningless,\" she said on her work in activist spaces.

\"I feel uncomfortable taking up as much space as I'm taking up and not speaking about any of this stuff,\" she added. \"It just doesn't feel right.\"
