A Chicago-based lawyer snapped a video of the cop cleanup and shared it on Twitter with the caption, \"A thing I saw yesterday in Wheaton.\"

With shovels and some silver pails, the cops appeared to make quick work of the pastry problem, scooping them up and stuffing and stomping the day-old doughnuts into buckets.

It was not immediately clear how the doughnuts ended up there and Wheaton Police did not release any further information on the road hazard.

Wheaton Police did not immediate respond to ABC News' request for comment.
