DuBois was awarded the TV Land Impact Icon Award in 2006 for \"Good Times\" and earned two primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance on \"The PJs.\"

She is survived by her three children Rani DuBois, Yocanne DuBois and Burghardt DuBois.
