Bundchen also shared a post of her own to wish her twin sister, Patricia, a happy birthday.

\"Today Pati and I get to celebrate four decades of being alive on this amazing planet!\" she captioned the post, which featured several photos of the pair. \"How lucky I was to be born with my twin and best friend!\"

\"I am so grateful for all the people who have been a part of my journey,\" she continued. \"My husband, my family (especially my loving children!), my friends and so many others who I never got to meet but who have supported me through all these years. I’m grateful for every experience that has helped shape who I am today.\"

Bündchen added that her heart is \"so full\" and she is \"looking forward to this new chapter of my life, where I get to use the tools I’ve acquired these past 40 years in service of helping make this world a better place.\"

In another post shared last week, Bundchen revealed she is celebrating her 40th by planting 40,000 trees in the Amazon rainforest.

\"I feel like a whole new chapter of my life is starting, and I wanted to celebrate it in a meaningful way,\" she wrote alongside a family photo. \"I have been planting trees for different projects for years, as I feel that this is the best way I know to give back to Mother Earth.\"

She explained that she encouraged all of her family and friends to \"give something back to our planet\" and plant a tree in lieu of gifts on her special day.
