Duchess Kate's visit to the University of Derby was scheduled days before World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10.

\"Even before the onset of COVID-19, both the severity and prevalence of common mental health conditions experienced by young adults was on the increase,\" Kensington Royal wrote in an Instagram post alongside photos of Duchess Kate during her visit.

The statement continued, \"However, like the sports societies and nursing students here at Derby, universities are continuing to explore new ways to support their wellbeing.\"
