The carousel of photos showed the edible replica of the hospital itself, surrounded by Dr. Carlson's white coat and two cakes in the shape and blue teal hue of nurses scrubs.

\"Check out the super special cake I made for Dr. Michelle Carlson, the nurses and staff at @hspecialsurgery as a token of my immense appreciation!\" he wrote in the post. \"It replicates the main hospital there in #NYC.\"

Valastro, 43, continued, \"I could never thank them enough for all they have done to help me on this journey to a full recovery #roadtorecovery #healthcareheroes#heroes.\"

The literal icing on the cake, was the fondant replica of Valastro's hand sitting atop the cake tower.
