\"I think my sister and I really embodied that and I think that's something we apply to all aspects to our lives.\" he continued.

Satchel and Jackson will make history as the 2021 Golden Globe ambassadors, as it is the first time two siblings of color have taken on the roles.

\"We have been watching the Golden Globes since we can remember. We're proud to carry our father's legacy of storytelling to bring attention to communities close to our hearts,\" Satchel said in a statement when the announcement was made.

Jackson, who is also the award show's first Black male ambassador, recently directed the short film \"Thompson Farms.\" His sister said she's \"flirted with the idea of directing,\" but sees herself as more of a producer.

When it comes to following in their father's big footsteps, Satchel told ET, \"I want to create a legacy or continue a legacy that [my parents] can be proud of, but I also need to be true to myself.\"

\"I think whatever that truth is,\" she added, \"really, will be in line with our father's legacy, our mother's legacy. It just sometimes can be tricky to figure it out -- but it all works out in the end.\"

The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards air Feb. 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on NBC.
