The \"Parenthood\" alum then went on to explain what being pansexual means to her.

\"I know ppl might be unfamiliar with what pansexual means; for me it means I know I can fall in love with people of all genders. This is the word that fits me best,\" the \"Parenthood\" alum explained in a follow-up tweet, adding that she is \"proud+happy to be part of the Bi+ community.\"

According to the Human Rights Campaign, pansexual is defined as describing \"someone who has the potential for emotional, romantic or sexual attraction to people of any gender though not necessarily simultaneously, in the same way or to the same degree.\"

Whitman had previously opened up about how the people she is attracted to is \"constantly changing,\" telling Glamour in 2014, \"I just like people. I like everyone.\"
