Wilson's husband, actor Tom Hanks, also made a guest appearance in the buzzworthy prequel. He appeared as a general named George Meade in the second episode.

Tim McGraw, who stars opposite his real-life wife, Hill, as her on-screen husband James Dutton on \"1883,\" said he specifically requested a cameo from Hanks during the season.

\"Tom and [his wife] Rita [Wilson] and Faith and I have been friends for a long time,\" the country singer and actor shared while discussing Hanks' appearance with \"Entertainment Tonight\" last year. \"So I gave Tom a call and just asked. He goes, 'Tell me when to be there.'\"

\"He showed up and did it and he killed it,\" McGraw added.
