Tip 1: Choosing an SPF

\"First and foremost, SPF is a must. I recommend broad-spectrum sunscreens with SPF of at least 30,\" Ugonabo shared.

\"This product has a light tinted finish -- which for some can provide light coverage that allows them to skip makeup, hence simplifying their morning routine. It also contains iron oxides, which provide extra protection against visible light.\"

Tip 2: Sensitive skin SPF

\"This SPF is lightweight, formulated for sensitive skin and blends well in various skin types even though it's a mineral sunscreen,\" Ugonabo said.

Tip 3: Use vitamin C

\"As a dermatologist, I love to recommend my patients wear vitamin C underneath their sunscreen in order to boost their sun protection. Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects against free radicals in the environment,\" Ugonabo said.

\"This product contains L-ascorbic acid. It's also lightweight and absorbs nicely into the skin without leaving any sticky residue, making it ideal for the summertime.\"

Tip 4: Moisturize

\"I always educate my patients that warmer temperatures don't mean they shouldn't moisturize their skin. You can consider switching to lighter moisturizer that is more gel/cream-based. One of my favorites for these is Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel-Cream, which contains hyaluronic acid and leaves skin feeling softer after use,\" Ugonabo said.

Tip 5: Gentle cleanser

\"Finally, I recommend washing your face with a gentle cleanser that will leave skin feeling clean without stripping it if its natural oils. One of my favorites is La Roche Posay Lipikar Wash AP Gentle Foaming Moisturizing Wash, which has niacinamide and shea butter which help leave skin feeling clean but still moisturized,\" Ugonabo said.
