Step 1: Prep with heat protectant
\"Always prep with a heat protectant! My go-to is Ouai Heat protectant spray,\" DiPietro says. \"Use this on dry hair and spray each section before using hot tools.\"
Step 2: Start curling
\"Start with medium-sized sections for a more loose wave. Using your GHD iron, clamp hair away from the face, twist and pull the iron through the section -- make sure to leave ends out! This is key for a beachy look. Alternate directions of each section for a natural look. If you have wavy hair naturally, randomly pick up sections to wave with iron.\"
\"This iron is my favorite for creating a beach wave because it’s the perfect sized barrel. It's also so easy to glide through the hair to create waves and stays at the best temperature so it doesn’t damage your hair in the process.\"
