Emmys 2020: See the full list of nominees

WATCH: ABC News Live Update: 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards nominations

The nominations for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday.

Actress Leslie Jones hosted the virtual ceremony and stars including Laverne Cox, Josh Gad and Tatiana Maslany presented categories for the upcoming awards show.

HBO's "Watchmen" earned 26 nominations, more than any other program. Behind "Watchmen" was "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" with 20 nominations; "Ozark" and "Succession" followed closely with 18 nominations each.

Three-time Emmy winner Regina King and fellow Emmy winner Jeremy Irons were both nominated in the lead actor and actress in a limited series categories for "Watchmen."

Some first-time Emmy nominees include Zendaya, who earned a nod for lead actress in a drama series for HBO's "Euphoria," Anna Kendrick for "Dummy" on Quibi, and Paul Mescal for his performance in Hulu's "Normal People."

Several "Succession" cast members scored their first Emmy nods, including Nicholas Braun, Kiernan Culkin, Sarah Snook, Harriet Walter and Matthew Macfadyen.

Jimmy Kimmel will host and act as an executive producer for the 2020 Emmys. He's hosted twice before, in 2012 and 2016. Guy Carrington, Reginald Hudlin, David Jammy and Ian Stewart will also executive produce the show.

The 2020 Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday, Sept. 20, and will be broadcast at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The Television Academy announced last week that it is planning to release details about the show's production soon.
