What's better than receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs? Having Janet Jackson gush about you for two minutes on Instagram.

Jackson posted a heartfelt video message to Missy Elliott, who received the award at last night's ceremony. Jackson, who calls Missy "Jack," said, "I want to talk about how beautiful your soul is, the person that you are. You know how much I love you. And your soul is so true and so real and your energy and your spirit is beyond. I think that's why God has given you all that he has."

She continued, "You are brilliant. You are fabulous and I just want to thank you for being you. For being such a beautiful, loyal, wonderful friend and always being real, in front of the camera, and off camera."

Jackson then noted that she doesn't have many friends in the music industry, admitting, "I could count them on one hand and you're definitely one of them. And I thank God for him bringing us together, for you being in my life."

"I love you so much and I'm so proud of you," she gushed. "This is way overdue. Congratulations. I love you."

Elliott reposted the video and in the caption, she admitted that she "boo hooed crying watching this video because you are such a dear friend to me."
