"It's hard to find the words here...but I feel extremely grateful for the years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons," Ballerini continued.

Ballerini and Evans were married in December 2017 following a whirlwind courtship that began the year prior, after they met while hosting an awards show in Evans' home country of Australia. Since then, they've supported each other through their respective country music careers.

Ballerini, whose new album, "Subject to Change," comes out next month, asked fans for their respect and support in Monday's post.

"With very active schedules coming up, please be mindful that we are both fragile, actively healing and showing up the best we can," she wrote.

Evans took to Instagram Monday afternoon writing in his Instagram story, "I am very sad to confirm that after almost 5 years of marriage, Kelsea and I are parting ways. I wish it were otherwise but sadly it is not."

According to E! News, Ballerini filed the divorce documents in court on Aug. 26, reportedly citing "irreconcilable differences."
