Lady Gaga shuts down pregnancy rumors with big news for fans

After tabloid reports this week claimed Lady Gaga is expecting a baby, the singer and Oscar winner took to Twitter to reveal that, yes, she is pregnant... but not with a baby.

"Rumors I'm pregnant? Yeah, I'm pregnant with #LG6," she tweeted.

It was Gaga's first acknowledgment that her sixth album -- the follow-up to 2016's "Joanne" -- may arrive sooner rather than later.

It also earned a resounding 260,000 likes in just 14 hours.

Of course, fans started freaking out at the news, with one writing, "How many months pregnant? We talking third trimester or what?" Another wrote, "Can you go into labor ????"

After fans caught their breath, they then began obsessing over another rumor: that the new album would feature a collaboration with Rihanna.

They pointed to the fact that when it comes to social media, Gaga usually only follows the people with whom she works, and she just followed Rihanna and Bloodpop, a producer who contributed to "Joanne." There's no confirmation of that rumor, however.

Gaga has actually been working on the new album for a while. Back in October, another one of her collaborators, DJ White Shadow, told ABC News that the new music had the same "feeling" and "emotions" as Gaga's 2013 album, "ARTPOP," though not the same sound.

"This next thing that we’re working on, I feel the same way that I felt when we were working on ARTPOP," Shadow explained.
