Actor Josh Gad is back as the wisecracking snowman, Olaf, in Disney's blockbuster animation, "Frozen 2."

Since the film's release, Gad has been surprising audiences in California movie theaters, he said today during an appearance on "Good Morning America."

"It's so fun to see the excitement on opening weekend for a film like 'Frozen 2' and to share that moment with the fans and just give them a little thank you for coming out to the movies," he told "GMA."

Gad also shared the movie's release with his daughters who are 5 and 8 years old.

"It was amazing. They looked at me and they go, 'Daddy, we liked it even more than the first one,'" Gad said, later joking that he responded, "what was wrong with the first one?"

The rest of the original "Frozen" cast are also reprising their roles in the second installment of the movie, including Idina Menzel as Elsa.

Gad said he is a big fan of Menzel and first saw her on Broadway.

"I think it borders on, there will probably be legal restrictions placed against me," Gad joked of his fandom. "I am borderline obsessed with her since I first saw her in "Rent" when I was in high school and then I saw her in "Wicked" and I just fell in love with her. She's so remarkable. She's so good and such a beautiful human being."

Gad went on, noting how much he appreciates fans of the film. "So many people came to the theater dressed as the characters and it just warms my heart to see kids, grown men, everybody, wearing these costumes," he said.

"Frozen 2" is in theaters now.
