Priyanka Chopra Jonas is taking to social media to raise awareness about the COVID-19 crisis in her home country of India.
The "Quantico" star shared an impassioned plea to her Instagram on Wednesday urging her almost 63 million followers to lend a helping hand.
In the video, which is just over a minute long, Chopra Jonas explains, "Why do we need to care? Why is it so urgent right now? ... There are no rooms in ICUs, ambulances are too busy, oxygen supply is less, crematoriums having mass cremations because the volume of deaths is so much."

In the caption of the post, the 38-year-old actress and NY Times bestselling author goes on to share that she's set up a fundraiser in conjunction with GiveIndia that will provide COVID-19 relief -- a fundraiser that she and husband, Nick Jonas, "already have and will continue to contribute" to.
"Whatever you can spare, truly makes a difference. Nearly 63 million people follow me on here, if even 100,000 of you donate $10, that’s $1 Million, and that’s huge," the actress wrote in her post, before explaining that the funds would be used for "healthcare physical infrastructure (including Covid care centres, Isolation centers, and oxygen generation plants), medical equipment, and vaccine support and mobilization."
"We need to beat this virus, and to do that requires ALL of us," she concluded. "From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!"
India reported 360,960 new COVID cases just on Wednesday alone. It was the seventh straight day with more than 300,000 new infections in the country.
On Monday, President Joe Biden pledged to offer support to the country after speaking to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
