Scott Foley was so pumped about his new television series, he packed up his family and moved to Prague to shoot his new ABC comedy-drama, “Whiskey Cavalier.”

“Three kids and my wife, I’ve got three kids in school in Prague,” Foley told ABC News. “I lived overseas when I was a child. We moved all around. And I credit the international traveling with a lot of who I am today. I’ve always wanted to give that to my kids, but never knew how. And this opportunity came up.”

The series features a secret group of agents doing their part to keep the world safe.

“I play an FBI agent who is partnered with a CIA agent to lead a ragtag team of inner-agency spies to save the world and sometimes each other,” Foley said in a recent interview on “Popcorn with Peter Travers.”

He jumped into the role almost immediately after wrapping up his final scenes for ABC’s “Scandal.”

“I shot my last scene on 'Scandal' and drove straight from the 'Scandal' set to the airport to go shoot the pilot in Prague. It was a quick turnaround,” said Foley.

He told Travers it was important for him when helping to develop the series to find something that reflected what he watched when he was growing up.

“As a viewer, I want to come home from this divided nation that we live in and turn it all off and relax and enjoy something on television,” Foley, 46, told Travers. “I want to relate to not just the characters I play, but to the characters that I watch on screen. And I think that the old stoic, emotionless, hard action hero is out of touch.”

"Whiskey Cavelier" can be seen every Wednesday night on ABC.
