Laura Prepon on Monday opened up about motherhood during a video call with “Strahan, Sara & Keke” co-host Sara Haines.
The 40-year-old actress and mother of two discussed struggling with postpartum anxiety-- detailed in her new book “You and I as Mothers”-- and explained why she felt compelled to share her experience with others.
“When I became a mom I was so blindsided, I had no idea what was coming at me,” Prepon said. “I felt like there was such a void and I couldn't find a voice to turn to. That’s why it was so important to me to write this book so someone can have a resource to go to and pick up and feel less alone.”

“I didn't want anyone to know what I was going through,” Prepon said. “And it’s like, ‘why should I be ashamed that I didn't know what to do?’ I shouldn't feel like I'm the first person who’s ever gone through this when so many women have gone through it.”
