The hashtag #Halloweentree on Instagram pulls up more than 42,000 posts.

On Pinterest, searches for "Halloween tree ideas" are up 66% compared to last year, while searchers for "Black Halloween trees" are up 53%, according to a Pinterest spokesperson.

Retailers from Wayfair to Walmart and Amazon are also now selling ready-to-decorate black, purple and orange artificial trees.
