Two people were killed in a shooting on the Las Vegas Strip Sunday night in an apparent targeted killing that followed an online argument, according to police.

Police on patrol near the Bellagio Hotel & Casino heard gunshots at about 10:40 p.m., and found two people with gunshot wounds when they arrived on scene, according to Las Vegas police.

The suspect, 41-year-old Manuel Ruiz, turned himself in at a Henderson police station on Monday, police said. He will be booked in the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon, police said.

Undersheriff Andrew Walsh described the shooting as an isolated and targeted incident.

"It is believed that the suspect and the victims knew each other and had previously engaged in conflict over social media prior to the shooting," police said in a statement.
