Snowed In! Edward Snowden Buried in Avalanche of Twitter Email

The excitement surrounding Edward Snowden joining Twitter this week has left the NSA whistleblower buried in an avalanche of email after he made a rookie mistake.

Snowden tweeted he forgot to turn off the email notification option when he joined Twitter. The result: He said he received an email for the more than 1 million followers he quickly amassed, along with emails for every time someone favorited a tweet, retweeted him or sent him a direct message.

The result: Snowden was sent a whopping 47 GB of email.

He shared his teachable moment and summed it all up with a hashtag: #LessonLearned.
