The sustainable direct-to-consumer footwear brand, famously worn by everyone from Lady Gaga to Hilary Duff, released its all-new Tree Flyer shoe on Tuesday, and it's ideally designed for high-performance distance running.
A slight upgrade from the brand's previous performance footwear offerings, the new style features a brand new midsole: SwiftFoam -- a foaming process that creates a low-energy midsole product process, the company says. The process uses Allbirds castor bean oil-based resin. Through this process, the brand is able to use less material and less energy which allows for it to be a more sustainable shoe with limited impact on the environment, according to Allbirds.
This eco-friendly pair is also lightweight and designed with increased cushioning which helps to allow runners to go longer distances with more ease, the brand says.
Additionally, the new Tree Flyer includes a flared external heel to provide additional support, an increased toe spring for better transitions, a traction pattern on the sole for elevated grip and a sleeker fit that better holds your foot in place, according to Allbirds.
