A new, dazzling ball will drop in Times Square in New York City next month, as revelers ring in the New Year.

One Times Square, the skyscraper home of the city's annual New Year's Eve ball drop, unveiled the new "Constellation Ball" Monday.

The new Constellation Ball, which is 12.5 feet in diameter, features 5,280 handcrafted Waterford crystals and LED lights and weighs 12,350 pounds, according to One Times Square, which designed the new ball.

The stunning spectacle showcases state-of-the-art lighting, interactive elements, and modern technology, with new motion and control systems as well.
