Ana de Armas says she and 'Ballerina' co-star Keanu Reeves have a 'beautiful friendship'
Ana de Armas is detailing her friendship with her "John Wick" universe co-star, Keanu Reeves.
De Armas discussed the origins of her working relationship with Reeves in an interview at the Red Sea International Film Festival on Friday, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"When I first moved to L.A., we did 'Knock Knock' together, and at that time I barely spoke English," she said, according to the outlet.
"It was kind of a frustrating journey not being able to fully communicate, but we still had a great time. We bonded really well, and we have a beautiful friendship," she continued.
De Armas also said Reeves was "incredibly kind and generous."
The "Knives Out" star also discussed her 2025 film, "Ballerina," which is a "John Wick" spin-off, centered on de Armas' character Eve Macarro, The Ballerina, representing the fifth film in the "John Wick" universe.
"It felt full circle. Keanu and Chad [Stahelski] have built such a beautiful world with those films, and having him there, supporting me ten years later, meant a lot,” she said of her continued relationship with Reeves, according to the outlet.
De Armas starred alongside Reeves early in her career in 2015's "Knock Knock," a thriller directed by Eli Roth, before joining the "John Wick" world a decade later.
De Armas joined "Good Morning America" in May and opened up about the experience she had filming "Ballerina" alongside Reeves.
"I have him in my movie playing this iconic character that he's created and kinda giving his blessing to our film, and it's really special," she said. "I admire him so much and I love having him around on set."
