— -- Anne Hathaway gave birth to her first child, a boy, just two months ago but has already quickly learned what an adventure being a parent can be.

Hathaway revealed in an interview that aired today on “Good Morning America” that she has not seen the first 20 minutes of her new adventure fantasy movie, “Alice Through the Looking Glass,” because of her son, Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman.

“I'm sorry. I am a new mother and I didn't time the feeding schedule -- well, like I have any control over it,” Hathaway, 33, told ABC News’ Chris Connelly with a laugh. “My kid was hungry, I had to feed him, I missed the first 20 minutes so I can't tell you about the beginning of the movie.”

“Alice Through the Looking Glass” puts a new twist on the backstory of Hathaway’s character, the White Queen. Hathaway called that story her character’s “secret” in the movie.

While the film revisits the fury of Helena Bonham Carter’s portrayal of the Red Queen, it also puts a new twist on the backstory of Hathaway’s White Queen.

“It was nice to find out that she wasn't so good all the time ...,” Hathaway said of her character. “She's covering something up. And that all that goodness is kind of put on so the people don't find out her secret.”

The Oscar winner and her husband, Adam Shulman, shared their own secret in January when Hathaway posted an Instagram photo of herself in a bikini, proudly showing off her pregnant belly.

“I hadn't planned on ever confirming it and then I just, I had seen a photographer while I was on vacation, taking a photo, and I just thought, ‘It's such a joyful and a sacred experience, you know, carrying life,’” Hathaway explained. “And I just thought, ‘I don't want the first version of this to be out there with me covering or scowling at someone.'"

She added, “You know, that's not representative of the experience, so I chose a photo that I was happy with, and I put it out there.”

Hathaway's royal role in "Alice Through the Looking Glass" debuts 15 years after a crown was first placed on her head in the classic movie "The Princess Diaries."

"More so than any other film that I've been in, that film has legacy and it just has meant so much to so many people," Hathaway said of the film, which also starred Julie Andrews. "It's given people the opportunity, you know, little girls and little boys to curl up with their parents on the couch and throw on their sweatpants and sit and cuddle and it's a real honor to think that something that you've been a part of becomes a part of the fabric of people's lives, you know?"

“Alice Through the Looking Glass” is in theaters now.
