— -- Ben Higgins will meet 28 women in the premiere of "The Bachelor," but two in particular really caught him off-guard.

The reality TV star, told ABC News in a call with reporters that when a set of twins stepped out of their limo, "it threw me off a little bit."

"My comment on that night is, 'I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone,'" he said. "For a second you look at it and think, 'What is happening?' But I got to sit down with these twins. They're two incredible women. They're two individuals, too, who I have a lot of respect for. In my eyes they are two separate women."

Among the other women who will be introduced in the ABC series' Jan. 4 premiere: a friend of former "Bachelorette" star Kaitlyn Bristowe, Becca Tilley and Amber James from Chris Soules' season of "The Bachelor," and a woman named Tiara who describes herself as a "chicken enthusiast."

Kaitlyn Bristowe Describes Ben Higgins In Just One Word

"Tiara can explain that one, I think," Higgins said. "When you have pets in your life that you care a lot about, they become like family. We've had a dog lover before, cat lovers at some point I'm sure, so why not a chicken lover?"

Higgins, 27, said he was excited about meeting women from all different backgrounds and tried to enter the process with an open mind. He also explained that fans of the show shouldn't expect to see a lot of PDA this season.

"I wanted to make sure that we spent our time getting to know each other one on one and not necessarily kissing or making out the whole time," he explained. "It was something I wanted to hold back from, I guess!"

To that end, he left the show with no regrets. And while he wouldn't say whether he's currently engaged, he did say he's "happy."

"This experience in general has been incredible," he said.
