Blue Ivy Carter adorably narrates audiobook for 'Hair Love'

At just 8 years old, Blue Ivy Carter is adding another talent to her already impressive résumé: audiobook narrator.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z's eldest child narrates the audiobook version of Matthew Cherry's "Hair Love," a 2019 children's book based on the Oscar-winning animated short film of the same name released the same year.

In addition to being available anywhere audiobooks are sold, anyone with a valid library card can listen to Carter's narration for free by visiting the digital library service hoopla digital.

Brought to life thanks to a huge Kickstarter campaign, "Hair Love" follows a Black father as he learns how to do his daughter's hair for the first time. During his Academy Awards acceptance speech, Cherry, a former NFL player, said it was his goal to "normalize Black hair" with this project. He also said on "Good Morning America" he wanted to "showcase a strong Black family unit."

HBO Max announced over the summer it ordered an animated series created by Cherry called "Young Love." The series will "expand" on the family introduced in "Hair Love," and will be "filled with comedy and heart."

Having been in the spotlight since her birth in January 2012, just this year, Blue Ivy won a BET HER Award and an NAACP Image Award for her song "Brown Skin Girl," a collaboration with her mom.
