Music legend Carly Simon is opening about about her music, her love life and her health – including a recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease – in a new interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer.

"Music is so wonderful because it gives you a direction," the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, known for hits including "You're So Vain" and "Nobody Does It Better," told Sawyer in a preview of the interview that aired Wednesday on “Good Morning America.”

Simon spoke with Sawyer after the release of her latest album, "Comes in Waves," her first album of original material in 18 years.

Simon is joined in the interview by her daughter, artist Sally Taylor, and her son, musician Ben Taylor, who quipped about his mom’s very public love life, “There must have been one or two in there that you could have done without.”
